Underwater wedding

John Saville was booked to draw photo cartoons at a wedding in the Seattle Aquarium. The bride and groom were both scuba divers and were married underwater in a large tank. Fortunately the guests were on dry land for their cartoons.

No jail can hold me

A young lady had a photo of her boyfriend who was in jail, and wanted a cartoon  with a caption of him saying "No jail can hold me". John Saville drew him cutting through the prison bars with a hacksaw and included a "Get out of jail free" card with the cartoon. Several weeks later he really did escape from jail.

Hippo on roller skates

A lady wanted to be drawn as a hippopotamus on roller skates, explaining that she kept dreaming this fantasy. So she was photographed and drawn with a hippo body (she was a large lady). She returned after a few weeks and said "It worked, no more hippo dreams". Doctor  Sigmund Freud, eat your heart out.

Perfect bowling ball

A lady wanted a bowling cartoon and showed John a photo of herself with her ex husband, who she didn't want in the picture. John remarked that he had a very round bald head, which was turned into a bowling ball with the lady getting a strike!

Arabian hot tub

A  Saudi lady wearing an all-enveloping gown, with just her eyes showing, wanted a photo cartoon of herself in a hot tub, drinking champagne too!  She quickly uncovered her face for the photo, and seemed to like the cartoon.  John suggested that she should not show her husband the cartoon.

Sore throat for two

A couple asked John if he could draw anything, and he asked them what they had in mind. "I want to be strangling him" the lady replied. The gentleman obliged by pulling a suitable face for the photograph, and was drawn saying " I promise I'll be good! " They liked the photo cartoon and wanted another one drawn with him strangling her this time.
